3D Transportation Analyzer

Cognitics is currently developing a software product that will take complex terrain features such as multi-level freeway interchanges, and automatically build a topologically correct three dimensional model of the feature. Using available source data including vector data, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), and LiDAR, the 3D Analyzer can generate accurate models of real-world features. When sufficient data is unavailable, the analyzer falls back to using civil engineering standards to build a realistic model that can be edited manually to reflect the real-world feature more accurately. The output of this product is CityGML as an intermediate format, and fully modeled and textured model files that can be integrated into a simulation system.

The 3D Transportation Analyzer will allow runtime modeling of complex terrain features with minimal to no user interaction. This will increase the realism of 3D simulation systems and reduce the cost of producing terrain databases.
