Cognitics, Inc. is a developer of software applications and embedded systems for the military and civilian applications. We are a growing small company located in Boise, Idaho, with a start-up feel.
We are looking to fill a Software Engineer II position. The position will mainly consist of software design, development, testing, and documentation. Areas of focus will be determined according to the applicant's experience level and areas of interest. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the desire to learn new methodologies quickly and accomplish tasks efficiently.

Must be a permanent resident of the United States with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance if needed.

Preferred skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a Computer Science field.
• Three or more years experience developing software in C++ in a Windows or Unix environment. Additional experience and other object-oriented programming languages is desireable.
• Experience with Windows and Unix based operating systems (Linux and/or MacOSX) desired.
• Highly motivated individual who has a drive to learn new skills quickly.
• Very responsible with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to think critically and "think outside the box" when approaching new problems.
• Ability to work independently on tasks with guidance from management.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
