Cognitics, Inc. is a developer of software applications and embedded systems for military and civilian applications. Cognitics, Inc. develops software applications and embedded software. We take pride in offering the development of cutting-edge software solutions and services focused on military simulation, and GIS applications. We are a growing but still small company, located in Boise, Idaho, with a start-up feel.
We are looking to fill a college intern role on a part-time basis (estimated 10-15 hours per week, but we are flexible). For the right candidate, this role could potentially turn into a full-time position. The position will mainly consist of software design, development, testing, and documentation. Areas of focus will be determined according to the applicant's experience level and areas of interest. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the desire to learn new methodologies quickly and accomplish tasks efficiently.

Must be a permanent resident of the United States with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance if needed.

Preferred skills:

• Object-oriented software development experience is a must. Experience in C# and/or C++ is highly desirable.
• Experience with Windows and Unix based operating systems (Linux and/or MacOSX) desired.
• Highly motivated individual who has a drive to learn new skills quickly.
• Very responsible with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to think critically and "think outside the box" when approaching new problems.
• Ability to work independently on tasks with guidance from management.
• Possesses good communication and teamwork skills.
